Our front facing boards are 1inch thick (25mm) which is the most substantial gates on the market! We use ultra wood screws & high strength, weather-proof wood glue to ensure unique durability!!! All our gates are bespoke handmade to an extremely high standard in our cutting-edge workshop! Our TIMBER IS PRESSURE TREATED in a tank under extreme pressure to ensure the TREATMENT is fully absorbed into the core of the timber, guaranteeing they will achieve long-life without rot. Pressure treatment is carried out with Tanalith E preservative, which contains copper and organic biocides. This impregnator is applied in a high pressure industrial process. Tanalith E ensures, that timber acquires high resistance to humidity, sunlight, rot and bacteria. This preservative is used worldwide for about 20 years, so it has proved its effectiveness, longevity and benefits. It is important to mention that described preservative complies with EU directive no. This means that it does not contain any forbidden compounds (of chromium, copper, arsenic), and that it meets the environmental and health requirements. So, if You are considering purchasing a wooden gate or fence, or other wooden objects in the open air, it would be best to use pressure treated timber. Please note the timber we use for our front facing boards IS NOT FEATHEREDGE as FEATHEREDGE is very thin timber that it is not heavy duty which will only result in bowing, twisting, warping, peeling back and breaking in a very short timescale & featheredge will certainly not withstand bad storms or extreme heat.
