The handpicked redwood is machine planed smooth from 100mm x 50mm rough sawn timber. The driveway gates are framed, ledge & braced and hand made. The gates are designed to be side hung. Gates have a centre rebate right hand opening first. The gates have a top and mid rail with the bottom rail 100mm up from the bottom for the hinge to be fitted. The gates are also braced prevent sagging. Board quantity and wicth may vary on different width gates. Total height is to the top of the horns. We use 110mm x 15mm redwood tongue & groove boarding with a v groove one side, the boarding is then fixed with professional exterior wood glue and secret pinned with stainless steel fixings. The pedestrian gate is for easy access without having to open a larger gate or both. The pedestrian gate will be on the right-hand side when viewed from the outside, unless requested otherwise, so can be made with the pedestrian gate on the left. The pair would be made up of a 3′ wide pedestrian gate, and the remainder would make up the bigger gate. We do not use steel fixings or face nail. Colour and knot content can vary. Your driveway gates will be supplied untreated ready to treat with the colour and type of treatment you desire.
