In general, industry match boarding is sometimes quoted as 125mm x 19mm which can be misleading as this is the size the boarding starts as in rough sawn form. In reality, the finished planed size of this match boarding in 118mm x 15.5mm. We do things a little different. The match boarding we use is manufactured for us (or sometimes by us) from 5×1 (125mm x 25.4mm) rough sawn’unsorted’ Scandinavian redwood which is the best available and the finish of the boarding is a full 118mm x 18mm thickness. In short, our match boarding is much stronger and stable. We feel the need to explain this as we have to cover the extra cost for the quality we provide.
