Our TIMBER IS PRESSURE TREATED in a tank under extreme pressure to ensure the TREATMENT is fully absorbed into the core of the timber, guaranteeing they will achieve long-life without rot! (This life span will be extended to over 30 years if you also treat your gates every 2 to 3 years) NO TREATMENT IS NEEDED (All our gates can be stained or painted) Our gates are NOT constructed using Featheredge! Beware of gates constructed from Featheredge timber!! These materials are not as durable due to the thinner timber used, they will bow, rot, warp, twist & break when exposed to bad weather & HOT UV rays. Beware also, of gates constructed from TANTALISED. Tantalised timber will need treating on a regular basis whereas the pressure treated timber is ready to be stained or painted and will not require any additional treatment. If you are planning on staining, varnishing or painting your gates then I would recommend you use a stain, varnish or paint that also contains a weather proof rot resistant treatment to give your gates that extra added protection from the weather.
